The Ames Woodworkers Club began in the early eighties and currently has 140 members from the Ames and surrounding areas. The club meets at various places in Ames and in other locations in Central Iowa to share information and tips about various woodworking related topics.

The club holds a two-day woodworking exhibition presented in the North Grand Mall in Ames. Scroll saw and turning demonstrations as well as an exhibition of member projects are the highlight of the event.

Membership in the Ames Woodworking Club is open to anyone interested in woodworking, arts and crafts involving wood, and related activities. In additionto attending meetings and receiving the monthly newsletter, dues paying members are also entitled to discounts at various area businesses.
